Feeding Soil for Healthy Plants Workshop

Join Perennia specialists Amy Sangster and Av Singh, and  Environmental Farm Planner Kathryn Bremner, for Feeding Soil for Healthy Plants

A three-hour session on  calculating application rates of organic soil amendments to meet crop  demands. The workshop will be held in Antigonish (121 St. Ninian St.) on December 10 and in Sky Glen (1904 Mabour Rd.) on December 12 from 6-9 pm.

Whether you are a conventional or an organic farmer, and whether you farm on a large or small scale, if you apply compost, manure, or other non-chemical amendments to your crops then this workshop is for you!

The registration fee is $15+HST; pre-registration and pre-payment is required.

As part of the workshop, participants will receive a hard copy of  Building Soils for Better Crops, edited by Fred Magdoff and Harold van Es, a valuable resource for farms of any type, production method, or  scale.

Participants are encouraged to bring their own soil test reports,  manure test results and compost reports if they are available. For more  information on how to do a soil, manure or compost test, visit: novascotia.ca/agri/programs-and-services/lab-services/analytical-lab
